ASME is the acronym for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, a membership organization recognized globally for its leadership in providing the engineering community with technical content and a forum for information exchange. With a membership of more than 130,000 mechanical engineers and allied professionals from around the world, ASME serves this wide-ranging technical community through high-quality programs in continuing education, the development and maintenance of codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and various forms of outreach.
Rutgers ASME aims to provide guidance to prospective Mechanical and Aerospace Engineers. ASME welcomes people of all majors and challenges everyone to broaden their horizens. Being a part of this society allows for new connections to be formed and life lessons to be learned. One of the goals of ASME is to provide hands on experience that can't be taught in a classroom. Being a great engineer means more than just memorizing notes and ASME aims to provide the necessary information and experience to take a person as far as they are willing to push themselves.
